The course aims to help the student with the following skills:
- Develop the ability to create well-formatted documents using LaTeX
- Understand the basic structure of a scientific document and its writing conventions
- Develop writing techniques to write clear, convincing, and energetic scientific documents
- Be more comfortable when presenting scientific content to an audience

- Mid-term exam (MT): 50%
- Mid-report + Student presentations (RP): 50%
Final Grade = 0.5*MT + 0.5*RP
The final report will be checked by a plagiarism detection system. Any detected plagiarism will trigger administrative sanctioning procedures.
The instructions differ if you are enrolled as a MOSIG student or an exchange student:
Your mid-report must be an initial version of your internship intermediate report. The content must be as follows
- (mandatory) The description of the research problem and the objectives of
the internship
- (mandatory) The description of the background information related to your
internship and the analysis of the state of the art
- (optional) The current status of the work: description of preliminary ideas, milestones
(for example, testbed setup, prototype implementation)
- (optional) The plan (what you expect to do) for the remainder of the internship
- (mandatory) The bibliography
You must use the same template of your internship report, and must not exceed two pages, including references.
Your task is to write a scientific paper about the QuickSort algorithm. Suppose that you are the creators of this algorithm, and now you want to publish your work as a scientific paper. The paper must follow the provided template (https://cloud.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr/s/GLE4qxtWzw9FHJr) and must not exceed two pages, including references.
The deadline is Tuesday, 14 April 2026, 11:59 PM Paris time. You must enroll on MOODLE (https://im2ag-moodle.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr/course/view.php?id=348) to submit your report. The enrollment key will be given during class. Only submissions from MOODLE will be accepted.
